How do I aim and shoot?
Drag anywhere on the screen to move the crosshair. Press FIRE on the right side to shoot. Fast enemy ships require a lock: hold the crosshair on the ship for two seconds until the computer confirms "Enemy locked," then fire.
How do I unlock more weapons?
One new weapon unlocks each level, through level eight. Tap the weapon strip at the bottom of the cockpit to switch between the ones you have earned.
The Arc Beam stopped firing
That is the overheat system working as designed. The Arc Beam fires continuously and builds heat. Release it before the gauge fills and it cools back down. Hold it too long and it shuts off until it has cooled completely.
I can't buy upgrades at the starbase
Most upgrades are gated behind a kill quota as well as a price. The shop shows how many more enemies and meteors you need to destroy before that upgrade unlocks. You can also only buy one nuke per station visit — but winning any of the four arcade games earns a free one.
What is the Core Split?
It detaches your Control Module from the main hull. Your ship flies faster and banks harder while separated, but you must re-dock before the Phase Engines will charge for a Spacial Phase jump. The ship's computer will suggest the split when conditions favor it.
How do I beat the Wooktalon mothership?
A mothership arrives every third level after the first starbase. When your computer isolates its shield harmonics, start the Harmonic Breach: three shield rings spin at different speeds, each with a gap. Tap (or press SPACE) when the gap crosses the top marker to lock each ring. Lock all three and the shields collapse completely. Three misses or a timeout and the shields hold — you will have to shoot them down instead.
Can I turn off the computer voice?
Yes. Tap the VOICE button on the bottom console rail at any time during play. Sound effects and music are controlled separately with the SND button.
Sound doesn't work when I start the game
Apple requires that audio begin only after you touch the screen. Tap once and sound will start. If it still does not, check that your device is not in silent mode and that the SND button in the cockpit is on.
The game is in portrait and won't rotate
ATTACK SHIPS is landscape only. Turn your device sideways. If it does not rotate, check that Portrait Orientation Lock is off in Control Center.
Are there in-app purchases or ads?
No. You buy the game once and own all of it. There are no advertisements, no currency packs, no energy timers, and no subscriptions. Every weapon, upgrade and level is earned by playing.
